The Hewitt Sisters | Short Stories
Step into 1890s Manhattan and explore the stories of the women who founded Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Hear from curators, writers, and historians who have studied the legacy of Sarah and Eleanor Hewitt— their lives, travels, and the making of a museum.

This program will feature four short mini-talks in breakout rooms with an audience Q & A. Speakers will include Matilda McQuaid, Curatorial Director, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, Matthew Kennedy, Publishing Associate, Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, Pamela Horn, Director of Cross-Platform Publishing and Strategic Partnerships, and Sue Shutte, Historian at Ringwood Manor.

Participants over 21 are invited to join us with a Hewitt sisters-inspired cocktail developed by mixologist Claire Sprouse of Hunky Dory. Those under 21 are encouraged to join with a mocktail. Recipes for both will be included in an e-mail to registrants.
