Looking to share your work with the world and wondering where to start? Join Cooper Hewitt along with guest designers Melissa Gutierrez and Juddelis Villar as we dive into the world of design portfolios. Expect real-world tips and tricks for creating portfolios that stand out at every level — from applying to schools to landing a job.

While this interactive session will be focused primarily on graphic design portfolios, there will be opportunities to speak broadly about sharing design work. Recommended for ages 16+.

Melissa Gutierrez is Brooklyn-based designer and illustrator. As a senior experience designer at Adobe, she works on the Learn team creating experiences that help teach people how to use apps like Photoshop and Illustrator. In addition to her role at Adobe, Gutierrez is the creator of WestofChester, an illustration project and ode to her upbringing in Miami.  

Juddelis Villar (she/they) is a graphic designer and social media marketer based in Yonkers, NY. Villar received an associate of arts degree in digital design from CUNY Bronx Community College in 2021. She is currently the Senior Designer and Community Manager at the BCC Design Studio, Art Director for Dominican artist El Científico, and Brand Marketing and Design Associate at Creatively.

This free program will feature an interactive presentation followed by an audience Q&A hosted through Zoom, with the option to dial in as well.
